Radar Engineer SME (Communications Rep 5) Location: McLean, VA, Remote, United States Requisition Number: 29127 Required Travel: 0 - 10% Employment Type: Part Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt Anticipated Salary Range: $122,577.00 - $160,000.00 Security Clearance: Secret Level of Experience: Senior HI Summary We are seeking a remote Radar Engineer SME to support the United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces in Africa. The SME will assist in upgrading current radar systems, integrating new technologies, and managing acquisition programs. Responsibilities include requirement definition, vendor solution evaluation, implementation planning, and program management support. What You Will Do Oversee work in progress and reviews for the radar system, ensuring alignment with requirement documents. Support requirements analysis, design reviews, acquisition, prototype and production system testing, developmental and operational testing, system acceptance testing, and general engineering and product documentation reviews. Provide expert program management support, including schedule oversight, risk identification and mitigation, and coordination across government and contractor stakeholders. Support acquisition planning and documentation efforts by developing, reviewing, and advising on requirements, technical specifications, contract deliverables, and acquisition strategies in alignment with DoD/USAF policies and guidelines. Monitor and verify radar system requirements traceability, performance, and compliance through analyses, assessments, and technical reviews. Establish requirements for tools, test/support equipment, personnel, supplies, and technical documents. Liaise effectively with units, MAJCOMS, HAF & PMOs, building relationships and facilitating communication and coordination as needed. Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Serve as consultant to management and external spokesperson, advising senior management and customers on policies, plans, and objectives. Apply extensive technical expertise, communicate effectively, and present technical approaches and findings clearly. Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity. Support and engage with cross-functional IPTs and maintain strong stakeholder communication. What We Are Looking For 15+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 13+ years with a Master’s degree; or High School Diploma with 19+ years of relevant experience. Prior experience managing projects for the DoW (e.g., Project/Program Manager). DoD/DAWIA Program Management Certification. PMP (Project Management Professional) from PMI certification. Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance. Physical Requirements Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
