Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1.5-2 years of ICU experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30-7:00. Option of 36 or 48 hours per week. Patient ratio of 1:2. Floating required to like units within scope, as needed based on facility needs. Weekend shifts required.

Active NM or compact RN license required prior to start. Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required. Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS. Preferred certification: BLS. Preferred experience with EPIC charting system. Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care. Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and suctioning (ETT, NT). Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring. Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and IV insulin protocols. Preferred experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and post neurosurgery management. Experience in Neuro ICU and/or Surgical ICU settings preferred.

Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. Receive brief orientation when floating to other units. Onsite orientation includes completion of non-billable training modules. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. No travel pairs or groups accepted. Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; locals are not accepted. Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler.
