Athletic Trainer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join the U.S. Army's rapidly expanding Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program. This role is a unique opportunity to participate in the military's largest human performance optimization initiative.

As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will help drive measurable outcomes, including increased Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) pass rates, reduced musculoskeletal injuries, and improved behavioral health. Launched in 2018, the H2F program is scaling across 110 brigades through 2027, revolutionizing how the force approaches readiness.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, dietitians, cognitive performance experts, and occupational therapists.
• Injury Management: Deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions.
• Performance Optimization: Implement strategies addressing the five H2F domains: physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual.
• Unit Readiness: Support leadership with evidence-based strategies to reduce injuries, promote recovery, and enhance overall force resilience.
• Data Integration: Utilize tools developed by the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT) to track and improve performance outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
• Certification: Passing score from the BOC for Athletic Trainers and a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Licensure: Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any U.S. state or territory. (Candidates must be willing to obtain in-state licensure during the onboarding process).
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant Athletic Training experience within the last three years. Experience with active populations (military, collegiate/professional sports, performing arts, or occupational health) is preferred.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Credentialing: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen; maintain current physical and immunization records.

Physical Demands

This is a dynamic, on-site role in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to:

• Lift up to 45 pounds .
• Spend extended periods standing or moving in outdoor elements.
• Provide proactive, hands-on interaction with personnel during training and recovery.
