Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing position. The role provides care for patients with cardiac conditions, respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery needs in an acute-care setting. Responsibilities include managing noninvasive respiratory support, selected titratable medications, chest tubes, and complex cardiac and respiratory monitoring.
Job Details
Schedule: Night shifts of 12 hours, totaling 36 hours per week. Weekend scheduling includes a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, with holiday coverage required.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nursing license required for submission

Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information:

Patient population includes cardiac patients, patients experiencing respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery patients.
Patient assignments generally range from 1:3 to 1:4.
Required clinical skills include managing noninvasive respiratory support such as bilevel positive airway pressure (BPAP), heated high-flow therapy, ventilators, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), and chest tubes.
The role includes managing selected titratable cardiac, antihypertensive, metabolic, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia medications.
Registered nurses verify rhythm strips after review by monitor technicians.
Self-scheduling and block scheduling are available.
Department orientation details are assigned during the orientation week.
