Details Cross-trained role covering Med/Surg, ER, LDR, and Nursery units Responsible for total patient care when assigned to any of these areas Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Room following demonstration of competence Provides obstetrical care through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages after demonstration of competence Provides newborn care Uses electronic health system with barcode scanning for medication administration Shift is 5p-5a, 3 days per week (36 hours) Weekend and holiday rotation required Requirements Active NE or compact RN license required Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current certifications required: CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and TNCC Strong communication skills required Additional Information Performs nursing care including administering treatments, medications, and assisting with examinations Assists physicians and nursing team in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care Documents and transcribes physician orders and maintains accurate patient records Assists in training and orientation of new employees Participates in Quality Assurance activities and required in-service programs Neat, clean uniform required for patient care Indoor, smoke-free patient care environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases Housing options are limited; motel/hotel accommodations recommended On-call rooms are limited and available upon request American Traveler Job ID P-748990.
