Location: Charlotte, North Carolina About: Seeking a skilled Histology leader to join our healthcare team. The role involves overseeing a histology department and assisting with training, scheduling, budgeting, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision:
- Oversee and mentor histotechnologists, histology technicians, and support staff.
- Schedule and assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and professional development opportunities.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Ensure high standards of quality control and quality assurance in all laboratory procedures.
- Develop, implement, and monitor protocols for tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Operational Management:
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample accessioning, processing, and documentation.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and other relevant agencies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections and audits.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science.
- ASCP certification or equivalent.
- Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail.
- Histology experience.
- Histology leadership experience preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
