Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide care in a 15-bed unit. The unit follows inpatient rooming practices with infants. All infants will stay in rooms with their mothers. The newborn nursery will be utilized when necessary for infants requiring special care. Shift available is for nights, working 4 shifts of 12 hours each week. Ability to work every other weekend is required. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, utilizing SBAR for patient handoffs. Experience in managing antepartum and postpartum care is essential. Ability to perform a variety of clinical skills, including newborn assessments and breastfeeding support, is required. Familiarity with medications used in Labor and Delivery, including Pitocin and magnesium sulfate therapy, is preferred. Knowledge of special procedures such as vaginal delivery and cesarean section recovery is important. Charge experience is preferred but not required. Strong ability to perform tasks such as sterile vaginal exams, IV management, and patient triage is needed. Demonstrated commitment to family-centered care is essential in this role. Candidates must have valid certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Beginner at a minimum. Preferred certifications include AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate. Experience in a similar clinical setting is highly beneficial. Caring for both neonates and adults is part of the role.
