Job Overview Our Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is located on the first floor of Kindred Hospital Philadelphia – Havertown. The inpatient rehabilitation services are designed to help individuals recover independently after an acute injury, impairment, or illness. The goal is to provide specialized treatment programs for stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, neurological conditions, amputation, and trauma. The ARU features nine newly renovated rooms, a modern gym, designated activity and dining spaces, outdoor areas, and amenities such as Wi‑Fi, cable television, private bathrooms, and guest recliners. Responsibilities Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provide educational information to patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation. Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in treatment delivery. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions. Establish individualized plans of care tailored to patients’ capabilities and goals. Design, prepare, and deliver physical treatment programs to improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent dysfunction. Apply standard physical therapy techniques and interventions appropriate to the patient’s age and condition. Administer treatments using physical agents, equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, ultrasound machines, and prosthetic/orthotic devices. Delegate tasks and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assess competence, delegate specific tasks, establish communication channels, and document goals and progress. Qualifications & Requirements Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. Additional requirements include: Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
