Senior Robotics Software Engineer

Senior Software EngineerMytra's robotics team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop software critical for motion control, task execution, and safety management of our robotic fleet as we scale. You will collaborate closely across multidisciplinary hardware and software teams, own firmware development throughout the product lifecycle, and contribute significantly to real-time embedded systems critical to our robot's performance.Responsibilities:Deliver high quality code across many layers of the robotics software stackImplement highly performant and real time code for critical control and safety functionsIdentify performance, maintainability, and reliability of code changesContribute to the complete life cycle of software features including feature definition, implementation, test plan, and roll out strategyAssess and contribute to long-term architectural decisions as software evolvesLead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of alpha and beta phase prototype robotsQualifications:BS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalentExperience with C/C++/Rust and system level environmentsStrong experience with Python, particularly focused on application and process level developmentDemonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable incremental progress in a continuous integration development environmentExperience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environmentsUnderstanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics controlExperience with network communication technologies, including CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and pub/sub frameworks like NATSUnderstanding of how hardware changes affect robotics software and vice-versaUnderstanding of Git and software version managementStrong knowledge of software design and maintainability patternsPreferred experience in embedded software and/or firmware developmentAbility to fluently interpret system data to root cause logged faults and build robust diagnostic toolsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Linux operating systems and kernel fundamentalsA Final NoteIf this role excites you, we encourage you to apply — even if you don't check every box.
