Position Summary


The Procurement Lead manages procurement activities supporting industrial automation and robotics projects. This hands-on role partners with engineering, project teams, and suppliers to ensure equipment, components, and services are sourced and delivered according to project requirements and schedules. The position requires strong technical purchasing experience, BOM management, supplier negotiation, and proactive management of long-lead and project-critical materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project BOMs, technical requirements, and schedules with engineering and project teams.
• Identify missing requirements and long-lead, custom, high-risk, or project-critical materials.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for robotics, conveyors, controls, electrical components, sensors, vision/safety systems, fabricated parts, installation services, and related equipment.
• Evaluate quotations for technical fit, quality, cost, lead time, responsiveness, and risk.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, commercial terms, and recovery options.
• Prepare purchase request packages and track supplier commitments, pending orders, and at-risk items.
• Proactively address delays through expediting, alternate sourcing, partial shipments, replacements, or engineering changes.
• Build relationships with domestic and international suppliers and coordinate supply issues independently.

Qualifications


Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant project procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
• Direct experience in industrial automation, robotics, material handling, system integration, manufacturing equipment, or a closely related technical environment.
• Experience with project BOMs, supplier quotations, lead times, custom equipment, subcontractors, and installation services.
• Strong supplier evaluation, negotiation, expediting, issue-resolution, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and supplier-related issues.

Preferred:

• Procurement experience with an automation/material-handling system integrator, robotics integrator, or industrial equipment manufacturer.
• Familiarity with conveyors, robotics, controls, sensors, vision systems, grippers, safety systems, and fabricated parts.
• Experience with supply plans, long-lead trackers, supplier readiness reports, or project supply hot lists.
• Experience supporting installation, commissioning, or customer-site project execution.
• Hands-on robotics integration or engineering experience is a strong plus.
