Duration: 13 Weeks – Potential Extension
Shift: Flexible Shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Break: 30-minute unpaid break
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support sterile processing and surgical services operations. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment .
Key Responsibilities- Perform sterile processing activities in accordance with established infection prevention and safety standards.
- Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare instrument trays and surgical supplies for procedures.
- Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment according to established procedures.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper condition.
- Maintain accurate records related to sterilization and instrument processing.
- Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sterile processing environment.
- Collaborate with surgical services and other clinical teams to ensure instruments and supplies are available when needed.
- 3 years of recent Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience within the past 5 years.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) .
- Current Sterile Processing Technician certification .
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing, decontamination, sterilization, and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
