APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in  Lancaster, OH looking to add a 2 nd Shift Production Supervisor to their already amazing team.  Their primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely production.  Keep reading for more details!

What  your day will look like:

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including assigning work and coordinating employee activities to meet production requirements.
• Collaborate with Production Planning and Plant Management to level-load production and achieve expected plant output.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands; participate in employee interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
• Hold direct reports accountable for meeting established work standards, productivity expectations, and performance requirements.
• Direct and coordinate material movement throughout the manufacturing department to support efficient production flow.
• Conduct routine production-area walkthroughs to monitor productivity, workflow, and proper equipment and workstation setup.
• Ensure proper plant start-up and shutdown procedures are followed.
• Maintain effective shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity and prevent gaps in production, safety, and operational activities.
• Verify daily inventory accuracy through proper material-handling procedures and effective use of the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Engineering to implement work-cell improvements, including material flow and motion studies.
• Drive the development, training, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of standardized work instructions.
• Prepare and distribute daily reports, including production output, regulatory compliance, and shift summaries.
• Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures, including attendance, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
• Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings to communicate safety, production, quality, and operational information.
• Prepare and communicate incident reports and promptly escalate safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations safely, calmly, and effectively in accordance with established procedures.
• Partner with Team Leads and Human Resources to ensure new employees receive appropriate training, mentoring, and follow-up through audits, inspections, and other verification methods.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the performance of employees who are not meeting established standards.
• Address employee concerns, performance issues, and potential disciplinary matters promptly while utilizing appropriate conflict-resolution techniques.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate employee timekeeping, attendance, vacation, and sick-time records using the ADP system.

What we are looking for:

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing role.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand and troubleshoot basic mechanical processes and equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
• Current forklift certification covering propane, electric, aerial platform, and turret equipment, or the ability to obtain required certifications.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English; bilingual skills are a plus, particularly Spanish, French, or Haitian Creole.
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees, Team Leads, management, Human Resources, Engineering, and other departments.
