Full Time Orlando, FL, US Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually Job Overview We are seeking a Materials Engineer to focus on the evaluation of materials in new and service run GT components. Responsibilities Investigation of service component condition through visual and non-visual methods. Failure/Fracture surface characterization identifying the locations and fracture modes. Chemical analysis practices and requirements. Characterization of material systems for high performance applications (superalloys, high temperature metallics and ceramic coatings, intermetallics, stainless steel). Participate in failure analysis activities. Communication with internal and external customers. Writing of internal and external Technical Reports, presentations, purchase specifications, and process specifications. Define and manage project schedule and budget. Support of product qualification, procurement, and material substitution. Qualifications BS in Materials, Ceramics, Mechanical or related technical field. Minimum 3-5 years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of failure analysis of parts made of superalloy and steel materials. Knowledge of materials and metallurgy of steels superalloys and coatings and their chemistry, microstructure, heat treatments, and service degradation modes. Knowledge of mechanical, physical, and environmental testing; materials data analysis. Work experience in a manufacturing / lab environment preferred. Understanding of gas turbine coatings is preferred. The Company: Viable Engineering Solutions is a world-class concept-to-completion center for the industrial market.
