Medical Technologist Richland, VA 24641 Varied Shift Reports to Lab Director Must have Bachelor's of Science major in Medical Laboratory Science Major in Medical Laboratory Science 1 year experience in acute lab setting Nice to have 2 or more years of experience in acute care lab setting A Medical Technologist who excels in this role:
- Follows standardized procedures and prepares patient samples for testing.
- Collects and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
- Operates laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
- Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; reports and documents findings according to organizational standards.
- Performs automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
- Conducts Quality Assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
