The IT Department works collaboratively to provide the best possible customer service and support and is looking for someone to join our team. Position Details Position Title: Technical Support Specialist I College/Division: ALCC Alamogordo CC Department: 920740-ALCC INSTITUTIONAL TECHNOLOGY Location: Alamogordo Community College Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $16.83 Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0 FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5) Job Duties and Responsibilities Support users with technology hardware needs, including upgrade, repairs or replace. Install and maintain software for end users and operating systems. Manage and verify server backups. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Manage user accounts, distribution groups and account security. Perform initial setup and installation of new equipment and asset records. Maintain laptops and inventory records for student checkout program. Process equipment for disposal. Support adds and changes to telecommunication devices. Serves as a backup technician for the Multi-Media Specialist. Qualifications High School diploma + 1 years of relevant experience, or higher degree. Preferred Qualifications Excellent customer service and team member. Help Desk experience working with users on solving issues. Familiar with MacOS and Windows, current versions. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day. Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
