As a Teller, you will support Mountain West Bank's mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position will train at our Merdian Financial Center and then be permanently placed at a branch in Meridian, Boise or Nampa. Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager. Career growth includes roles such as a Personal Banker, Customer Service Manager, Branch Manager and many more! This is a full-time, hourly position. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 6:15 pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm for a total of 37 hours a week. Rate of pay depends on experience. Duties and Responsibilities Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit. Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices. Process savings withdrawals. Cash checks: verify endorsement, receive proper identification, and ensure validity. Identify counterfeit currency. Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies. Cross-sell bank products and services. Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line. Count and roll loose coins. Issue personal money orders and cashier's checks, accept orders and payment for U.S. Savings Bonds and sell American Express Travelers Checks (single & multiple signer). Accept loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receipts. Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded. Ensure teller station is properly supplied. Follow procedures for removing accounts for dormancy. Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks. Process cash advances, redeem U.S. Savings Bonds. Maintain appropriate currency logs. Follow all bank policies and procedures. Perform other transactions as needed in accordance with policy and procedures. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. About You Position Requirement / Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 6 months of prior customer service experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent technology acuity & computer systems knowledge. Ability to efficiently use multiple computer programs and systems simultaneously. Preferred Knowledge, Skill, Ability Jack Henry experience 6 months of prior cash handling experience Work Environment Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: stand; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to: sit; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. What We Offer Compensation & Benefits Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
