Therapeutic Recreational SpecialistSchedule: Monday-Friday, 12 noon to 8:30 pm, with one weekend per month requiredAnnual Salary: $49,284The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist to join our team at the B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center. This position provides therapeutic recreation services to adults experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises and helps individuals develop coping skills, improve socialization, and achieve their treatment goals.The B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center is an urgent care center serving adults experiencing behavioral health or substance use crises. The center supports Emergency Services, Marcus Alert, the 23-Hour Crisis Observation Program, and the Regional Crisis Stabilization Center, providing coordinated services to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health needs.Minimum QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy, or a closely related field.One (1) year of experience working with individuals in a behavioral healthcare setting.
