Inspector

Receiving Inspector This is a challenging and rewarding position with a mission to support the manufacturing of air and space-based RF systems in our Severn Operations of Lockheed Martin. This opportunity involves working closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing team to build prototypes, support New Product Integration (NPI) and production builds. Receiving Inspector: Inspects purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications. Examines electronic components like bare boards, COTS items and, items fabricated to inhouse drawings for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications Reviews supplier certifications, packing slips test reports to insure compliance with Lockheed Martin flow down requirements Identify, label, and document defective, damaged, or non-conforming materials Provide direct Quality Assurance ownership and oversight of Receiving Inspection labs Participate in regular MRBs (material review board) to ensure nonconforming material/process is appropriately handled Basic Qualification: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance 5+ years Quality Assurance experience in a Receiving Inspection environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints Good understanding of AS9100 standard and support with internal & external audits as required Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers) High level of accuracy in identifying defects and maintaining records Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems Desired but not required: Previous work experience in Aerospace, NASA and/or FAA programs Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations Works independently with limited supervision Work location: 7763 Old Telegraph Rd, Severn MD 21144
