We are seeking a reliable, technically capable IT Support & Systems Administrator to assist with day-to-day support, infrastructure projects, documentation, and client technology management. This role is ideal for someone who can handle both end-user issues and more advanced Microsoft 365, networking, security, and server administration work with limited supervision.

The position will support multiple business clients and environments, including offices in Texas and other states, with normal service-desk coverage during business hours and occasional after-hours work for urgent issues or maintenance windows.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite technical support for Windows PCs, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 applications, email, Teams, file access, and line-of-business applications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, update, and document client systems through RMM, endpoint security, backup, and ticketing platforms.
• Create, update, and resolve service tickets while communicating clearly with clients, vendors, and internal team members.
• Escalate issues appropriately, but take ownership of troubleshooting through resolution whenever possible.
• Build and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, credentials/process records, device inventories, onboarding/offboarding procedures, and client-specific knowledge-base articles.
• Assist with user onboarding and offboarding: account provisioning, Microsoft 365 licensing, mailbox access, MFA, workstation setup, security groups, and access removal.
• Support infrastructure projects such as firewall replacements, network upgrades, VPN deployments, Wi-Fi improvements, server maintenance, conference-room technology, and cloud migrations.
• Coordinate support cases with internet providers, software vendors, VoIP providers, and other third parties through final resolution.

Required Technical Skills

Candidates should be comfortable working in managed IT environments and have hands-on experience in several of the following areas:

• Microsoft 365: Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, MFA, user and group administration, mail flow, licensing, and basic Intune administration.
• Windows infrastructure: Windows 10/11 support, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file shares, permissions, Remote Desktop Services, and basic VMware/vCenter administration.
• Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, switching, wireless troubleshooting, routing, NAT, packet captures, and ISP troubleshooting.
• Firewalls and security: Experience with Fortinet FortiGate preferred; WatchGuard, Meraki, SonicWall, or similar platforms are also valuable. Must understand firewall policies, SSL/IPsec VPNs, NAT, logging, and network segmentation.
• Endpoint tools: RMM, patching, remote support, EDR/antivirus, encryption, asset management, and backup monitoring. Experience with Datto RMM, Datto EDR, and Datto BCDR is a strong plus.
• Cloud and virtualization: Azure fundamentals, Azure VMs, Azure networking/VPN connectivity, VMware vSphere/vCenter, and cloud-based file and identity services.
• Automation: Ability to read, modify, and safely deploy PowerShell scripts. Experience using scripts through RMM tools is preferred.
• Security fundamentals: MFA, least privilege, phishing awareness, endpoint security, backup/restore testing, conditional access concepts, and common compliance expectations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, or cyber-insurance controls.

Experience with FortiGate, Meraki switching/wireless, multi-site LAN/WAN infrastructure, and Microsoft cloud administration is particularly relevant for this role.

Desired Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT support, help-desk, systems administration, MSP, or network-support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across user devices, cloud services, servers, networks, and security tools.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tickets, and communicate status without needing constant follow-up.
• Strong written communication and documentation habits.
• Professional, patient client-facing demeanor, including the ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
• Comfortable supporting users remotely and traveling locally for onsite work when needed.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation, if the position includes onsite client visits.

Preferred Experience

• Managed service provider (MSP) experience supporting multiple clients and tenants.
• Datto RMM, Datto EDR, Datto BCDR, or comparable RMM/EDR/backup platforms.
• Fortinet FortiGate administration and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft 365 administration and Microsoft 365 Business Premium security features.
• Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and device-compliance policies.
• Cisco Meraki switching, wireless, and firewall administration.
• Azure networking, site-to-site VPNs, and Azure virtual machines.
• VoIP, Teams Phone, IP-phone, or conference-room/Teams Rooms deployments.
• Familiarity with healthcare, regulated environments, or Citrix-hosted applications is a plus; the work may include supporting multi-site clients and cloud-hosted clinical applications.
