This role requires a strong clinical leader with proven experience managing a psych unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and team development.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the behavioral health unitLead and support nursing staff and interdisciplinary teamsEnsure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (DOH, JCAHO, etc.)Monitor patient admissions, discharges, and care planningDrive performance improvement initiatives and quality outcomesPrepare reports and maintain clinical and operational dataManage staffing, budgeting, and inventoryEnsure patient care standards and competencies are consistently metProvide administrative leadership and coverage when neededImplement best practices in behavioral health careRequirementsMUST HAVE: Experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital settingMinimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)Minimum 5 years of psychiatric clinical experienceAt least 2 years in a leadership roleStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of CQI, performance improvement, and Root Cause AnalysisAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentEducationRequired: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Preferred: Master's Degree in NursingCertifications & LicensureActive New York State RN License (Required)BLS CertificationACLS CertificationCrisis Management Certification (PMCS, TRUST, or equivalent)Additional DetailsDirect hire role with the hospitalVirtual interviews requiredOpportunity to lead and shape behavioral health services
