This role involves performing clinical testing across various disciplines including hematology, immunology, microbiology, clinical microscopy, chemistry, coagulation, and blood banking, all while adhering to strict regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform and verify routine and specialized laboratory tests with minimal supervision.
• Manage reagent preparation and analyzer troubleshooting to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
• Conduct quality control procedures consistently, documenting any failures and corrective actions.
• Prioritize workload effectively to meet testing requests and departmental productivity goals.
• Communicate critical results promptly to healthcare providers, ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to updating procedural manuals and policies.
• Perform ongoing assessments of specimens and troubleshoot issues for both in-house and reference testing.

Education: An associate degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field is required.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary for registered Medical Laboratory Technicians.

Certification: Certification or board eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician through recognized agencies such as ASCP, ISCLT, HHS, AMT, or NCA is required upon hire.

Physical and Mental Requirements: This position demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods and the ability to work under time-sensitive and stressful conditions. Approximately 90% of the time involves moving throughout the department and working at lab stations. Candidates must be able to lift or carry up to 20 pounds.

Working Conditions: The role involves regular exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious materials in an air-conditioned environment with moderate noise levels. Flexibility to work various shifts is necessary.
