Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio Certifications: None specified Must-Have: - Clear bags for personal items - Ability to clear metal detectors Description: Provides professional nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility or similar institution. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatments. Monitors patients on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention in emergencies. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals when necessary. Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff as needed. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans and trains or orients new employees. Responsible for healthcare needs of bedridden individuals, including round evaluations and care assessments. Teaches healthcare principles and administers medications. Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, and CPR. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams. Acts as lead worker in charge during assigned shifts. Performs clerical tasks, including charting and record-keeping for medications and treatments. Arranges for medical appointments and prescriptions as ordered by physicians. Serves as a liaison within the organization and attends necessary meetings. Serves as an instructor on occasion and leads problem-solving teams. Major Worker Characteristics: Knowledge of registered nursing procedures and regulations. Skill in operating medical equipment. Ability to handle both abstract and concrete variables. Demonstrates physical fitness.
