Forklift Operator/Material Handler

What the Day Looks Like

• Precision Driving: Safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move, stack, and stage heavy materials.

• Tech-Driven Logistics: Utilize handheld RF scanners to track inventory, order fulfillment, and maintain high levels of data accuracy.

• Systems & Auditing: Navigate internal warehouse software (such as SAP or similar systems) to log stock movements, perform cycle counts, and reconcile inventory.

• Freight Execution: Efficiently receive, break down, sort, and audit inbound and outbound shipments.

• Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily pre-trip equipment inspections adhering to strict OSHA regulations to maintain an incident-free workplace.

• Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with team leads and inventory specialists to resolve operational constraints and optimize daily workflows.

Qualifications & Attributes

• Proven Equipment Expertise: Documented history of operating material handling equipment in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.

• Digital Literacy: High comfort level using RF scanners and entering data into inventory systems or tracking procedures. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for digital reporting is highly valued.

• Process-Oriented Mindset: Experience with cycle counting, shipping/receiving procedures, and inventory integrity.

• Reliability: A track record of punctual attendance, strict scheduling adherence, and a proactive approach to workplace safety.

• Clear Communication: Ability to articulate inventory or equipment issues clearly to management and team members.

Responsibilities

Forklift Operator / Material Handler

Equipment Operation & Safety

• Safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks in high-volume, fast-paced environments.

• Conduct daily pre-trip equipment inspections adhering to strict OSHA standards.

• Ensure proper load integrity, weight distribution, and secure material handling.

Systems & Inventory Literacy

• Utilize RF scanners to track inventory, execute order fulfillment, and maintain high data accuracy.

• Navigate inventory systems (e.g., SAP /WMS) to log stock movements and track shipments.

• Perform cycle counting, auditing, and inventory reconciliation.

Logistics & Execution

• Efficiently receive, break down, sort, and stage inbound/outbound freight.

• Seamlessly transition between equipment operation and manual warehouse tasks.

Communication & Reliability

• Collaborate with team leads and cross-functional departments to maintain workflow efficiency.

• Utilize basic tech (Word/Excel) for standard reporting and documentation.

• Bring a dependable, detail-oriented mindset to a high-compliance workplace.
