General Maintenance Technician

Job TitleThe successful candidate will perform general maintenance duties at various schools/locations throughout the district, and will help maintain school buildings and equipment in a condition of operating excellence.QualificationsMinimum of high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Post-secondary education or training is preferred.Able to read, write, speak and understand English.Able to lift/move 50+ pounds.Able to walk/stand for long periods of time.Basic knowledge of various hand tools and their uses.Maintain a valid TN driver's license.No technical certifications or licenses are required, but either would be beneficial.At least one (1) year of comparable work experience is preferred.BenefitsThis is a 12-month, 260-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay will be determined by documented comparable work experience and placement on Grade 6 of the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule.
