About the role: Capitol Services is seeking an AI Engineer to work in Austin, TX. The position is permanent, full‑time, and follows a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday. C2C will not be considered and the candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. What you will do: Design, develop, and implement AI systems using Python code Build RAG pipelines, agentic AI workflows, and LLM integrations Write clean, modular, and scalable code and design systems that are production ready Own the end‑to‑end architecture of AI solutions Develop and maintain prompt orchestration layers, memory systems, and multi‑step reasoning workflows Build or customize orchestration frameworks Build APIs and services using FastAPI or similar frameworks Drive adoption of AI solutions across teams and identify opportunities where AI can deliver business value Lead AI end‑to‑end projects, including distributing work, performing code review, ensuring engineering quality, and providing technical mentorship on AI/LLM systems to Software Engineer team members Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards Communicate with coworkers and others in a timely, effective, and professional manner Who you are: Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and resident in Austin, TX (C2C will not be considered) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years building end‑to‑end AI products Proficiency with Python, LLMs (e.g., Claude, GPT), Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), MCP, agentic AI systems, generative AI, and AI agent orchestration Preferred: Experience as a full‑stack engineer building scalable backend applications using C# and .NET (Standard and Core), developing APIs, designing data access layers, and working with relational databases such as SQL Server Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and friendly tone towards coworkers and stakeholders Adaptable and eager to learn new tools, processes, and technologies; able to navigate changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment Coachable and willing to retain and implement instruction and training; confident in asking questions Positive customer‑service attitude, courteous and polite in challenging conversations Strong team player who balances independent work with collaboration and meets time constraints Reliable, punctual, and capable of following a regular work schedule; able to maintain client confidentiality at all times Works in a stationary position 75% of the time; hybrid schedule not eligible for 100% remote work What we offer you: $92,000 to $155,000 annual salary Discretionary annual bonus, typically 4 weeks of pay Three medical plans, including a 100% employer‑paid option 100% employer‑paid dental and vision benefits 401(k) with scheduled employer contribution Life and long‑term disability insurance, and an employee assistance program Four weeks of paid time off annually plus 10 paid holidays Hybrid working model with work‑from‑home equipment provided after training Access to building fitness center Office team events and learning development opportunities Applicants have rights under Federal Employment Laws.
