Precision CNC Tooling Machinist

Location: North Prairie, WI

Pay Rate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Shift & Schedule: 1st Shift — Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

A day in the shop

You kick off the morning loading a 3D CAD model and mapping out a precise toolpath strategy. By mid-morning, you’ve designed and built the fixturing the part demands, then dialed in offsets and parameters to bring the model to life on the CNC. Through the afternoon, you verify critical dimensions using precision measuring tools, keep production on schedule, and hand off completed tooling to the Tooling Specialist for final benching and rigging. Throughout the day you maintain a clean, organized workspace and operate CNC machines, shop equipment, and forklifts with safety at the forefront.

What you’ll handle

• Create efficient CNC toolpaths directly from 3D CAD models
• Design, plan, and fabricate fixturing to support accurate machining
• Set up and run CNC machines to produce precision tooling
• Select tooling, establish offsets, and optimize machining parameters
• Verify part accuracy with precision measuring instruments
• Meet production deadlines while upholding quality standards
• Safely operate CNC equipment, shop machinery, and forklifts
• Coordinate with the Tooling Specialist for final benching and rigging
• Pitch in with Tooling Specialist and Shop Assistant tasks when needed
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures

QualificationsEducation & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Post-secondary training in CNC Machining, Tool & Die, Tool Making, or related field (preferred)
• Relevant CNC machining experience (preferred)

Skills & Abilities

• Read and interpret 3D models and machining data
• Proficient in CNC setup and operation
• Working knowledge of CAD and toolpath software
• Comfort using computers and manufacturing software systems
• High attention to detail and precision
• Works well independently and within a team
• Willing to take on additional shop-related responsibilities
• Can provide basic personal tools for machining tasks

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods
