Acute Care Physical Therapist

Acute Care Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year License: Valid State License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Ability to assess and treat a variety of diagnoses including total hip and knee replacements, coronary artery bypass grafts, and post-stroke rehabilitation. Description: We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Physical Therapist. The therapist will provide physical therapy services in an acute care environment. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and conducting re-assessments. The therapist will work with patients recovering from surgeries, medical conditions, and various injuries. Key skills required are proficiency in patient family education and pain assessment. Experience in geriatrics and working with patients on assistive devices is essential. The position includes duties related to body mechanics, vital sign monitoring, and discharge planning. Knowledge in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, and gait training is important. The therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Weekend and holiday availability may be necessary.
