Maintenance Technician Jonathan Alder Local School District District - Delaware, Ohio Open in Google Maps Job Details Job ID: 5930846 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Sep 17, 2026 3:22 PM (UTC) Job Description TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN HOURS: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs in school facilities or similar environments High school diploma or equivalent (relevant maintenance experience, training, or education may be considered in place of a diploma) Self-motivated with the ability to address a variety of maintenance issues both inside and outside of buildings Demonstrates strong ethical standards and takes responsibility for decisions and conduct Effective time management and problem-solving skills Clear criminal background check appropriate for public school employment Ability to use relevant technology, equipment, and systems as required REPORTS TO: Director of Operations TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate to be determined. Work to be based upon 260 days per year as determined by placement on the Board adopted salary schedule. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Operations PERFORMANCE CRITERIA: 1. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 1.01Perform routine maintenance and repairs related to:Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Doors, Locks, Windows, Ceilings, Flooring, Walls, Furniture, Water Systems, Lighting Systems, Outlets, and Switches 1.02Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, valves, and drains 1.03Complete scheduled HVAC filter changes and assist with small HVAC repairs as needed 1.04Regularly monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure systems are operating properly and buildings remain in normal working order 1.05Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failure and facility downtime 1.06Respond to maintenance work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency and safety 1.07Assist with event setup and teardown for school functions, activities, and building rentals 1.08Assist with seasonal maintenance (snow removal support, HVAC changeovers, weather-related issues) 1.09Coordinate with custodial staff, administrators, and outside contractors as needed 1.10Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced 1.11Ensure compliance with district policies, safety standards, and applicable codes 1.12Participate in on-call rotation or emergency response as required 1.13Assist with minor construction, renovations, and facility improvements as directed 1.14Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment; place orders as needed to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance operations 1.15Daily upkeep and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on cleaning and custodial equipment 1.16Perform yearly checks and preventative maintenance (PM) on building roofs, drains & gutters 2.
