Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity where your expertise as a speech-language pathologist and your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) will make a significant difference in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH). This position, spanning the 2026-2027 academic year, is focused on providing direct therapy within a specialized regional day school program for the deaf. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of SLPs to deliver impactful, individualized speech and language therapy for children and adolescents across a caseload of approximately 130 students, each with unique strengths and needs. Your role will be therapy-oriented, working closely with students in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Hold an active Texas SLP license
• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or possess a DHHT certification
• Prior experience in educational or pediatric settings is highly desired
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Must complete fingerprinting through TEA if not done for another Texas public school recently

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech and language therapy to DHH students, focusing on individual progress and functional outcomes
• Work alongside a collaborative team specializing in evaluations and therapy services
• Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families in both spoken English and ASL
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adapt therapy plans as needed
