Sr Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer | Embedded Systems & Hardware Development

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll own the full hardware lifecycle for embedded electronic products - from initial concept through production and sustaining support. You'll lead electrical architecture decisions, drive PCB development, and serve as a technical resource for both new designs and legacy products. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in building reliable, field-ready hardware.

What You'll Do:

Design and develop embedded electronic systems across a range of products including electric water cannons, vehicle lighting, pressure governors, sensors, and control modules. Day-to-day work spans schematic design, PCB layout, and functional and system-level testing - alongside close collaboration with mechanical engineers, software developers, manufacturing engineers, and product managers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Beyond new development, you'll direct engineering personnel in test apparatus fabrication, determine testing methods and conditions, and ensure that manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. You'll also support field installations, coordinate equipment maintenance and repair, and serve as a technical lead on root cause analysis for legacy products.

Project ownership is a core part of the role - you'll build timelines from product specs, manage commitments, interface with vendors on design changes, and provide regular progress updates to keep milestones on track.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of microcontroller-based hardware design. (e.g. ARM and Microchip families of processors)

Strong understanding of electronic design for EMC / EMI compliance preferred

Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium)

Strong understanding of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.)

Experience integrating wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, LoRa) preferred

Understanding of DC motor control and driver integration

Experience with test equipment such as signal generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.

Hands-on experience with laboratory test and debug

Experience working with diverse teams on multiple sites

Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving problems through innovative thought and experience

Experience in an engineering environment with significant manufacturing exposure

Disciplined and well-organized in documentation of assigned projects

5+ years of experience implementing and maintaining embedded hardware systems

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
