Receptionist

Pay: $17.75 per hour

Work schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Position Summary:

Reports to the secretary III. Responsible for central communications and performing related clerical tasks in compliance with MTC and customer directives.

Essential Functions:

1. Route incoming and inter-office calls and make connections with outside lines for outgoing calls.
2. Place long-distance calls and keep record of all long-distance calls, outgoing and incoming reversed charge calls.
3. Keep directory of location/telephone extension for assigned personnel.
4. Type correspondence, reports and letters; proofread material to verify accuracy.
5. Maintain records, files and appropriate office supplies.
6. Operate office equipment such as copying and calculating machines.
7. Under direction, order and coordinate communication services.
8. Update and maintain facility directory.
9. Greet and direct visitors to the proper office.
10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
11. Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year clerical experience and computer proficiency required. Must be bilingual in Spanish. Must successfully complete required pre-service training. Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
