This position will be based out of our Oakland site and will be primarily community‑based, requiring frequent travel throughout the county. We anticipate the Alameda County site becoming operational in April. If the successful candidate is hired before that time, they will spend two days per week at one of our sister sites (Manteca, Stockton, or Fairfield), with the remainder of the week dedicated to training and working from home. JOB SUMMARY
The Clinician is responsible for establishing and implementing quality clinical treatment and case management for children and adolescents with special mental health needs. Clinicians shall provide individual, group, and family therapy as well as rehabilitative services and case management in whatever setting is most beneficial for the identified client. In addition, the Clinician is responsible for completing all documentation and written reports required by the Agency.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides comprehensive mental health assessments on assigned clients to determine the need for mental health services. Develops treatment plans and goals based on assessed areas of needs and strengths identified in the assessment. The Clinician shall monitor and evaluate client's progress on identified goals in the treatment plan. Completes all required documentation in a timely manner for each assigned client and maintains a comprehensive set of treatment records as stipulated in the County Mental Health Plan (MHP) or other agencies responsible for program oversight. Acts as the liaison between the program and family/community agencies including individuals such as Parents/Caregivers, Case Managers, County Social Workers, Teachers/Education Providers, and Probation Officers. The Clinician shall work with the family or care providers in the implementation of treatment plans and will maintain contacts with all important individuals in the client's life. Provides individual, family, and group counseling based on the needs of the clients served. Meets Agency service percentage standard reflecting expected time spent with clients, if applicable. Completes other assigned program operational tasks in accordance with supervisory directives.MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a clinical program with a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a field of behavioral science from an accredited educational institution. Holds a current license registration issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).POSITION/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a reliable mode of transportation to travel to assigned client homes, schools, offices, etc. If personal vehicle is the mode of transportation, must meet Agency’s driving requirements. Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency's Personnel Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB), drug screening test, and provide proof of COVID‑19 vaccination(s) and booster (if eligible). Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification (only when required by local county or program). Must be flexible to work nights and weekends, may need to work a split‑shift, varying schedule according to operational need. Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace, and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in a residential, office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, balancing and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently. Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely. Physically able to perform Pro‑ACT Restraint Techniques (Residential Programs Only), CPR and First Aid as trained. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle for traveling to recreational activities, home visits, DCFS and court locations which may be up to 100 miles driving distance. Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing and working with files.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working within a MediCal certified site, and familiarity with MediCal service standards and expectations. Experience working with at‑risk youth and their families in a mental health setting. Fluency in regional threshold languages spoken by the population served. Previous experience working with the public and government.
