Histotechnician
$25 - $40 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Histotechnician for its Cincinnati laboratory to process tissue and body fluid specimens, prepare histopathological slides, and perform immunohistochemical testing. The position operates on a night shift (10pm–6:30am) and requires technical proficiency with embedding, sectioning, staining, and laboratory instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Process tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Section embedded tissue using microtome and mount sections on microscope slides
- Perform immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections
- Operate automated and manual laboratory instruments and perform maintenance and quality control procedures
- Report accurate and timely test results following laboratory protocols and documentation requirements
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ years histology experience
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Experience embedding both large and small tissue specimens
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Capability to work independently and within team environments
Compensation: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour + 3rd shift differential
