Accounting Specialist- Accounts Payable

Accounts Payable SpecialistVision Technologies is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist for our finance team. The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist manages accounts payable using our accounting software. He/she is responsible for ensuring all invoices and bills are paid in a timely manner while adhering to departmental procedures. In addition, he/she will assist with annual audits, and provide assistance to the Manager, Accounting.ResponsibilitiesRunning a wide range of Accounts Payable activities – from managing approval workflow queries, validating coding to supporting weekly payment runs, aged creditor reviews and clearing vendor advances. Month end activities and reviews are required to ensure good cut off and accurate balance sheet values (for AP related balances).Being the main point of contact for US Corporate and Costing teams with regard to new suppliers / supplier management, invoice and payment queries, as well as working with these teams to find innovative solutions to streamline activities.Handling time sensitive, operationally critical AP needs – where problem identification and solutions need to be worked on. This requires being able to research the query, make phone calls to problem solve, be able to explain the problem, propose the solution and work with others to execute the solution.Working with based Finance team – Finance Managers – coding queries, process improvement, tax compliance as wellCoordinating reviews to ensure high priority vendors are paid within terms.Qualifications5 – 7+ years' experienceBachelors degree or relevant experienceIn-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable practices and proceduresOrganizational and problem-solving ability, good oral and written communication skillsApplicants must be highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously, with solid communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work in both a team and remote environmentPrevious experience working closely with senior executivesCompany OverviewVision Technologies, a national and global systems integrator, provides IT services and solutions for commercial and federal clients.
