As we continue to expand our outsourced accounting and advisory practice, we are seeking an experienced CPA with a strong Controller background to join our team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who brings deep Controller-level experience and a passion for helping businesses improve financial performance. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and internal controls. A tax background is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners and executive teams, serving as a trusted financial advisor while leading complex accounting engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Controller or fractional Controller for multiple client organizations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations.
• Design and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Manage client accounting teams and coordinate with external stakeholders.
• Assist clients with financial planning, KPI development, and operational improvements.
• Support audit, review, and compilation engagements as needed.
• Collaborate with firm partners on advisory and consulting projects.
• Provide tax planning insights and support tax compliance activities when applicable.

Qualifications:

Required

• Active CPA license.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Significant Controller or Assistant Controller experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounting teams and client relationships.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred

• Public accounting experience.
• Corporate tax, partnership tax, or business tax experience.
• Experience with outsourced accounting or CAS (Client Accounting Services).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, R365, NetSuite, or other ERP systems.
• Experience advising small to mid-sized businesses.
