Warehouse Worker

The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in the efficient movement and processing of packages within a busy distribution facility. In this role, you load and unload packages from trailers and delivery trucks, sort items to ensure they reach the correct destination, and support the returns group during a large K–12 ramp-up period. You work as part of a diverse, collaborative, and energetic team that thrives in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to learn multiple aspects of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages from trailers and delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Sort packages accurately to ensure they are routed to the correct destination or processing area.
• Support the returns group by handling, organizing, and processing returned items according to established procedures.
• Perform general labor tasks such as packing, repacking, and reworking products as needed.
• Pick and pack orders using established order picking methods to meet productivity and accuracy goals.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including staging, labeling, and preparing items for outbound shipment.
• Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including moving, stacking, and organizing products and pallets.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment, and where authorized, use forklifts or related material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate inventory by following inventory handling and storage guidelines.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Lift, carry, and move packages and materials throughout the shift as required by daily workloads.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and service targets.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, or similar environment.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading of packages and materials safely.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move packages repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Experience with returns processing, rework, or similar warehouse functions.
• Ability to perform order picking and packing tasks with attention to accuracy.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Reliability and strong work ethic to support steady warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inventory handling and basic inventory control processes.
• Familiarity with material handling tasks such as staging, stacking, and organizing products.
• Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse material handling equipment, where applicable.
• Previous work in returns or rework sections of a warehouse is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, energetic team.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse environment in the returns section of a large distribution facility in E-Town. You work on 1st or 2nd shift in an active, fast-paced setting surrounded by material handling activities. Overhead fans provide airflow, but temperatures can be hot during the summer and cooler in the winter months, so you should be comfortable working in varying climate conditions. The role is hands-on and physical, with frequent movement throughout the facility and regular interaction with packages, pallets, and warehouse equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Elizabethtown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
