Join Our Dynamic Team as a Night Shift Nurse!


Job Description:
- Unit Overview:
- Stepdown/MedSurg unit with 29 beds, currently under construction.
- All beds will be stepdown equipped, opening in the first quarter of 2026.

- Nurse:Patient Ratios:
- Step down: 3:1
- Floor: 6:1

- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)

- Patient Population:
- Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients.
- Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses.

- Experience Required:
- New and experienced nurses welcome.
- Ability to handle either 6 patients (med-surg) or 3 patients (stepdown).
- MUST HAVE EPIC EXPERIENCE.

- Titration Responsibilities:
- RNs will have orders written to titrate drips.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, TPN.

- Leadership Structure:
- Charge RNs and House Supervisors on duty 24/7.
- Charge RNs may take an assignment initially, with the goal to run with a free charge RN.

- Support Staff:
- Clinical Associates (CAs) provide care - ratio of 1:10.

- Equipment:
- CPAP, BiPAP on the floor and stepdown.
- HiFlow and vents in stepdown; adjustments go to ICU.

- Telemetry:
- Remote telemetry surveillance center available.
- RNs are not required to read their own strips; using Philips telemetry monitoring equipment.

- Shifts & Scheduling:
- 12-hour night shifts with a focus on accommodating scheduling requests.
- Weekend and holiday work expected.

- Floating:
- First to float or be pulled to other floor/stepdown units.

- Dress Code:
- Any combination of royal blue and white.

- Orientation:
- Comprehensive unit-specific orientation provided.

- Contract Details:
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
- Contract Weeks: 91.
