And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model .Job DescriptionLead the future of supply chain excellence – join us as a Sr. Manager, Procurement Global Raw Materials Transportation to lead a team of procurement professionals and building capabilities to align with evolving global transportation requirements!Key Responsibilities May Include:Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, building team capabilities to align with evolving global transportation requirements.Manage the annual transportation budget, delivering targeted cost savings for transformation initiativesNegotiate commercial terms with carriers, formalizing a transportation strategy and establishing a core carrier network to enhance operational efficiency.Design and implement a global RFP process for transportation, ensuring consistency and scalability across regions.Oversee compliance with federal and global regulations for all freight movements, including import/export documentation and adherence to standards like C-TPAT, ISPM-15, and INCOTERMS.Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international carriers and freight forwarders, ensuring alignment with CHEP’s safety, insurance, and service requirements.Develop and monitor key performance metrics for transportation operations, carriers, and freight forwarders, including the creation of an International Carrier Scorecard.Drive integration of carrier freight management technologies, enhancing reporting capabilities and fostering collaboration across internal, regional, and global teams.The primary role of this position is to maintain targeted customer service levels and drive out domestic and international transportation costs through utilizing industry knowledge, leveraging carrier relationships, and expanding our global presence across the CHEP regions. This role will also be responsible for managing the transportation compliance of all raw materials globally, which includes overseeing all documents related to customs, import/export requirements. They will collaborate with Raw Material Procurement Planning teams across multiple regions. This Manager will be responsible for year over year cost savings for all Transformation initiatives.What You Will DoMajor/Key Accountabilities:The key performance indicators for this role are driven by the line of business strategic goals and cover the following categories of performance:Lead and develop a team of five direct reports to expand team capability beyond current stateManage annual budget of multi-million-dollar transportation spend (spend will increase as Blue Forest continues to roll out)Deliver targeted cost savings for Transformation initiatives for CHEP USA and CHEP GlobalFormalize transportation strategy and core carrier networkFacilitate carrier on-boarding and sun-settingMaintain relationships with carriers that meet all safety and insurance requirementsDrive team performance levels and further integrate carrier freight management through increased use of technology including reporting and systemsDevelop and define key performance metrics for team, carriers and freight forwardersCreate an International Carrier Scorecard to share cross-regionally and with the carriersEstablish reporting to share with regions identifying inter-regional activity, savings, and serviceEnsure all global CHEP freight movements fall within accordance of all federal and global compliance regulations (i.e. – C-TPAT, ISPM-15, INCOTERMS, etc.)Approximately 30% travel required – domestic and internationalWhat You Will BringQualifications:Detailed knowledge of the international transportation industry including ocean, rail, barge, drayage, FCL, LCL, and airfreightKnowledge of standard transportation import and export procedures and US DOT requirementsPrevious experience conducting global freight RFQsAdvanced experience with international transportation pricing methods and practices, customs entry processes and brokerage/clearance requirements preferredExperience negotiating commercial terms for both master transportation agreements and ad hoc projects with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers and steam ship linesFundamental understanding of CHEP Global Operations and business segments preferredThorough understanding of the CHEP Network pallet flows and seasonality preferredExperience:Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field preferred5-7 years’ experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain2+ years’ experience with leading/managing peopleSkills and Knowledge:Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of business rules and processesGood problem solving, organization, and time management skillsCustomer service oriented and able to handle large volumes of inquiriesEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), SAP R/3 andBusiness Warehouse, Salesforce, Power BIWhat To ExpectScope:Direct reports: 3; total: 5Responsible for multi-million-dollar annual budget (Blue Forest rollout)Regulatory Compliance of international transportation which includes all import/export documentation retentionAccountable for ocean, drayage and intermodal freight for all raw materials related to Blue Forest ProgramBuilding and maintaining relationships with freight forwarders and carriersCost ManagementQuarterly RFQsPurchase Orders accuracy and maintenanceTransportation & Service KPIsFinancial Reporting & BudgetingWhat We OfferEmployee Package:Competitive Pay & Annual Bonus StructureBenefits Day 1!Paid Time Off plus Holiday Observances401K w/ company match (up to 4%)FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and life insurance!Tuition reimbursement, parental leave, childcare assistance, profit sharing, and more!Compensation Statement:The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 per year. Salary & hourly ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
