Job Description
TITLE
Critical Care Nurse - CVICU

SCHEDULE
Shift: Days 06:45-19:15
Hours offered: 36 or 48 per week

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract lengths accepted: 13-26 weeks

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years critical care experience
- CVICU or open heart experience required
- Travel experience required
- NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submittal
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- EMR: EPIC (preferred)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide post-operative care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries.
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac patient needs, including use of advanced devices.
- Administer medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips, and perform titrations as needed.
- Conduct assessments and interpret diagnostic tests, including ABGs and dysrhythmias.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care.
- Document care and patient progress accurately in electronic health records.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Orientation: Hospital week-one classes required.
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required. Flu vaccine required (with medical/religious exemptions allowed).
- Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
- No RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved.
