We are looking for a skilled developer to build the next generation of search, observability, and log analytics customer experiences on OpenSearch Dashboards (the managed UI for OpenSearch Service).Key job responsibilitiesAs a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon OpenSearch Service team, you will:Design, develop, and support a world-class search and analytics platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizesProduce high-quality code that is robust, efficient, and maintainableWork at the core of OpenSearch and contribute to the open-source projectWork on challenging problems in areas such as data visualization, log analytics, observability pipelines, query optimization, security analytics, and AI-assisted insightsContinually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving customer needsPossess knowledge in large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practicesParticipate in setting a vision and objectives for OpenSearch UI in alignment with customer needs and market opportunitiesDrive algorithm and architecture design, execute, and deliver resultsBuild the future of search, observability, and log analytics in the cloudJoin a great group of motivated, top-notch people and work with them to solve challenging problems in a fun, collaborative environmentBasic qualifications- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred qualification - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
