Parking Services Attendant Job Description - Parking Services Attendant (2602364) Required Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be able to read, speak and understand English and have a valid NYS Driver's License. Applicants must maintain a motor vehicle record free of major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Out-of-State Applicants must provide evidence of a valid license and driving abstract from the issuing state within five business days of a conditional offer and obtain a NYS driver's license within 30 days of the official start date. Applicants must remain courteous and tactful in stressful situations, be able to work in inclement weather, and be willing to perform mandatory overtime. Brief Description of Duties PARKING VIOLATIONS: Patrol parking areas, issue campus summons, and enforce towing/booting of violating vehicles. MOTORIST ASSISTANCE: Provide assistance to the campus community, including jump starts, Slim Jim, tire inflation, and transportation to gasoline service stations. SPECIAL EVENTS: Provide traffic and parking control for campus events, including setting up barriers and blocking off roadways and parking areas. Reports all roadway safety problems and signage issues to the Parking Enforcement Supervisor; maintains records of parking spaces and conducts periodic parking space counts. Completes necessary paperwork to immobilize and release vehicles; transports individuals from the Parking Office to the impound lot to facilitate release. Other duties or projects as assigned, appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Special Notes This is a full‑time position, 40 hours per week. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. FLSA nonexempt, eligible for overtime. Internal and external search occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. Salary grade 5 Hiring Rate $35,496 plus a location pay of $4,000 per year.
