Job Opportunity: Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist

Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to become part of our expanding and esteemed program at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD). This role will primarily be situated at one of our outpatient satellite clinics (Arrowhead or East Valley), where you will provide exceptional, family-focused hematology and oncology care within a community environment. Additionally, the position entails inpatient service duties at our main campus in Phoenix, requiring approximately 6-8 weeks of service annually, which fosters strong integration with the wider division and ensures continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient care in pediatric hematology and oncology at a satellite clinic.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of benign hematologic disorders and pediatric cancers.
• Provide ongoing care, including survivorship and supportive services.
• Participate in inpatient services at the main campus (approximately 6-8 weeks per year).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and program development.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Eligible for licensure in Arizona.
• A strong dedication to clinical excellence and teamwork.

The CCBD is among the largest pediatric hematology and oncology programs in the Southwest, boasting over 50 providers and a robust presence in clinical research, subspecialty care, and programmatic expansion. Position DutiesPatient Care Services

• Provide patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
  • Direct patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
  • Urgent/emergent care as necessary.
• Aim for the highest standards of patient and family-centered care.
• Support the hospital's patient satisfaction goals and the division's specific targets.
• Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards.
• Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.

Divisional Responsibilities

• Establish and strive to meet annual physician goals and objectives.
• Support the medical education initiatives of the division, including:
  • Supervising trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
  • Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
  • Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities.
• Support the division's research initiatives and programmatic growth.
• Assist with satellite efforts of the division as appropriate.

• Possess essential physical and mental skills to perform the duties effectively, including:
  • Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other devices.
  • Capability to perform after-hours or night call responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to maintain a regular work schedule.
