Corporate Sr. Counsel (Compliance) Location: Newport News, Virginia, United States Date: Dec 4, 2025 Req ID: 42712 Team: N358 LEGAL Entity: HII Corporate Office US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes Full‑Time, Shift: 1st, Relocation assistance available, Telework: Not eligible, Travel Requirement: 25%-50% of the time The Role The Corporate Counsel for Compliance (CCC) serves as a key member of the HII Compliance Team and Law Department, supporting the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer with oversight and coordination of all compliance activities at HII and its subsidiaries. This position can be based in Arlington, VA or Newport News, VA. Major Responsibilities of the CCC Assist with the development, implementation, and management of the Corporate Annual Compliance Plan. Manage day‑to‑day activities of the enterprise due diligence program and other assigned enterprise‑level compliance initiatives. Assist divisional Directors of Compliance and Assistant General Counsels with completing Division Annual Compliance Plans. Build strong working relationships with Divisional Compliance Program Managers and other compliance team members, providing necessary support. Assist Core Element Managers and Corporate Vice Presidents in completing compliance core element plans. Manage and supervise the Third Party Management System, HII's Compliance Assessment Management System (CAMS), and related software, including technical initiatives. Create, promote, and implement industry best practices. Collaborate with management and division leaders to formalize and maintain systems, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance and appropriate safeguards against failures. Must Have Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school and four years of experience. Member in good standing of a state bar, preferably the Virginia State Bar; must be a corporate member shortly after starting. Nice to Have Three or more years of experience in compliance, legal, or related fields. Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably manufacturing. Strong team‑player ability and business acumen, especially in the defense sector. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with and persuade senior leaders and board members. Ability to thrive in an environment that balances idea generation and project execution.
