Associate Agile Developer in Test (Internship)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Duration: 6-Month Internship

Hours: 20-40 Hours/Week

About the Role:
The Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is seeking a motivated Associate Agile Developer in Test who is currently pursuing a degree or is a recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with enterprise applications, test automation, Agile development practices, and modern software testing tools.

Responsibilities:

Support release verification, smoke testing, and regression testing.
Create and maintain test cases based on user stories and requirements.
Develop automated test scripts using Java, JUnit, Selenium, and Cucumber.
Collaborate with developers and QA teams to improve software quality.
Assist with defect tracking, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Contribute to continuous testing and automation initiatives.

Required Skills:

Working knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Basic understanding of software testing concepts and Unit Testing.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science or related degree program.

Preferred Skills:

Maven
SQL (Oracle or MongoDB)
Scripting (Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell)
Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions
Docker or Kubernetes
Selenium, Cucumber, and Agile methodologies

Work Environment:

Hybrid schedule: First 2-3 days onsite, then once per month onsite; remainder remote.
Must be local to Phoenix, Arizona.
Flexible schedule around college classes.
