Job Description:

This role involves working in a Level 2 NICU with responsibilities that may include flexing to postpartum duties if necessary. The nurse will handle a patient ratio of 1:3 babies, and will be required to attend deliveries, maintain IVs, and manage transfers to higher levels of care. Participation in block scheduling with requirements for working every other weekend, and 1 summer and 1 winter holiday is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for Level 2 NICU patients and postpartum mothers and babies.
• Attend deliveries as the designated baby nurse.
• Start and maintain IVs and assist with higher-level care transfers.
• Utilize respiratory equipment, including Bubble CPAP and Hiflow.
• Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Active BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications.
• Experience with NICU Level 2 and postpartum care.
• Proficiency in starting IVs and attending deliveries as a baby nurse.
• Ability to handle drips such as D5W and TPN.
