Requirements

• Basic life support
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Licensure: Current state license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Education: Minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification.
Core Skills: Proven experience in providing prophylaxis, taking X-rays, and maintaining clinical sterilization procedures.
Communication: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
Compliance: Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Job Description

Clinical Preventative Care: Perform thorough prophylaxis, including scaling, root planing, restoration polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
Diagnostics & Treatment: Take digital radiographs as prescribed, administer local anesthetics (per state regulations), and place subgingival medicaments for periodontal therapy.
Patient Interaction: Communicate professional treatment plans clearly, allay patient anxiety, and counsel patients on proper oral hygiene and the role of nutrition in oral health.
Sterilization & Room Management: Manage treatment room disinfection and sterilization protocols, including packaging instruments and operating sterilization units according to manufacturer guidelines.
Records Management: Accurately chart periodontal health and maintain detailed dental histories in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Office Participation: Engage in daily team huddles and meetings to review schedules and promote a seamless team-oriented workflow.
