Senior Manufacturing Engineer I [Mechanical] – Philip Morris USA – Richmond, VA – On‑site Senior manufacturing engineer with leadership responsibilities in mechanical engineering for high‑speed manufacturing and packaging equipment. Responsibilities Independently lead engineering initiatives, applying technical practices for high‑speed manufacturing and packaging equipment. Apply project management skills, present formal reports, and collaborate with multi‑functional teams. Maintain technical standards, principles, and business processes, continually expanding knowledge. Develop work priorities and plans aligned with business objectives. Serve as a technical resource in the assigned area of specialization. Prioritize resources on multi‑functional projects or lead department projects within budget guidelines. Manage capital projects with scope and budgets of $1–5 million annually. Translate technical and business knowledge into solutions others can use. Mentor and develop technical talent within the department. Background and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related field. Experience with high‑speed manufacturing and packaging equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and project management reporting tools. Strong communication and leadership skills, able to lead projects and present scope, timelines, and budgets to senior leadership. Initiative, accountability, and ability to apply equipment or process knowledge to troubleshoot machinery problems, interpret blueprints and schematics. Track record of balancing multiple priorities in a changing environment. Ability to make independent decisions under time constraints with minimal direction. Willingness to support back shifts, weekends, and occasional travel. Salary Range: $91,500.00 – $132,750.00. Benefits Paid time off, holidays, floating holidays, and a 37.5‑hour work week.
