OneAmerica: Senior Manager of the Washington for All Coalition
OneAmerica (OA) organizes immigrant and refugee leaders and our allies in Washington State to build power in our communities and run campaigns that ensure immigrants are not only protected and can survive, but that immigrants can thrive and are equal, valued, and loved.
Established in 2001 by U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, we have since grown to become a locally and nationally recognized leader in advancing immigrant, civil, and human rights. Our family of organizations consists of OneAmerica (OA)(501(c)3), OneAmerica Votes (OAV)(501(c)4), OneAmerica Votes Justice Fund (State PAC), OneAmerica Votes Justice for All Fund (Federal PAC).
OA envisions a peaceful world where every person's human rights and dignity are respected, where communities appreciate differences and stand together for justice and equality, and where each person contributes to the common good. All of our work is grounded in our Theory of Change and guided by the conviction that people directly impacted should lead our movement for justice because they are best equipped to create real solutions that build lasting power. Grassroots immigrant leadersour basedrive priorities across our organization.
You will be stepping into an organization in a strong position: 25 years of relationship-building and political credibility, stable and growing funding, and deeply committed leadership and staff. But what makes this position truly exceptional is the nature of the fight itself. Immigrants are under attack nationally, and Washington State is where we push back, where we win, and where we're actively modeling for the rest of the country what it looks like to fully include immigrants as part of the fabric of our communities.
This is a chance to be at the center of that fight: to lead a resistance movement inside an organization committed to long-term power-building and real wins for immigrants in Washington State. For the right person, there is no more exciting or meaningful place to work.
The Washington for All (WA4ALL) Coalition Lead is a hands-on senior coalition role responsible for leading and operationalizing the WA4ALL coalition strategy, partner engagement, and external alignment across advocacy, policy, organizing, electoral, corporate accountability, and narrative campaigns.
Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, this role translates organizational priorities into a disciplined coalition strategy and the day-to-day systems needed to move partners toward shared action. The Coalition Lead will recruit, engage, and organize a broad-based, big-tent table that makes space for organizations across the movement spectrum, including labor, business, faith, service, nonprofit, community, elected, and advocacy sectors.
This role requires both strategic leadership and strong execution: the ability to hold complex relationships, manage political dynamics, facilitate alignment, track commitments, support mobilization, coordinate communications, and move work forward through influence, clarity, and follow-through.
Responsibilities
Coalition Organizing & Leadership (30%)
Recruit, engage, and organize a broad-based, big-tent table across labor, business, faith, service, nonprofit, community, elected, advocacy, and other aligned sectors.
Develop and maintain coalition strategy in alignment with organizational goals, campaign priorities, movement-building objectives, and power analysis.
Assess coalition health, political alignment, risks, opportunities, and capacity gaps; elevate issues early and recommend course corrections.
Represent the organization in coalition spaces, campaign tables, partner conversations, and external meetings as appropriate.
Manage complex partner dynamics with transparency, diplomacy, strategic clarity, and a commitment to directly impacted communities.
Mass Base Mobilization and Collective Action (30%)
Partner with organizing leaders and coalition partners to define mobilization goals, participation ladders, geographic priorities, turnout targets, and escalation calendars.
Coordinate and track partner commitments for public actions, advocacy days, trainings, community forums, rapid response, and other collective action opportunities.
Ensure partners have the tools, scripts, training materials, accessibility supports, and culturally responsive engagement resources needed to mobilize effectively.
Narrative and Communications Alignment (15%)
Ensure coalition partners are aligned around core messages, spokespeople, stories, timing, calls to action, and rapid-response protocols.
Identify opportunities for credible messengers across faith, labor, business, community, youth, immigrant, elected, and other constituencies.
Coordinate distribution of partner updates, meeting summaries, toolkits, talking points, advocacy alerts, graphics, and campaign materials.
Collect partner stories, community examples, local messengers, field intelligence, and feedback that can strengthen narrative strategy.
Project Management, Governance, and Accountability (20%)
Design and facilitate regular coalition meetings, partner briefings, working groups, campaign check-ins, rapid-response coordination spaces, and strategy sessions.
Maintain coalition work plans, timelines, meeting agendas, notes, action trackers, shared documents, decision logs, partner databases, and communication systems.
Ensure clear follow-up after coalition meetings, public actions, partner conversations, and internal coordination meetings.
Support internal coordination across departments and ensure coalition activity is aligned with organizational strategy.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive leaders, organizers, advocates, community-based organizations, faith leaders, labor partners, business allies, service providers, nonprofit leaders, and other movement stakeholders.
OneAmerica staff responsibilities (5%)
Attend internal meetings, including staff meetings and staff retreats.
Support voter outreach events, OA's gala, and fundraising phonebanks.
Support advocacy campaigns and organization-wide meetings.
