Transportation Operations Supervisor

The Transport Operations Supervisor at Hanover County Public Schools is an essential figure accountable for the supervision, planning and organization of the school's transportation operations. The individual will oversee all facets of the delivery and collection of students, ensuring efficient transportation that is compliant with the school's safety standards and codes. Key Responsibilities Direct day-to-day operations to ensure consistency and reliability in the transportation services. Manage and guide a diversified team of drivers, ensuring the highest standards of professional conduct are maintained. Organize driver routes and schedules, optimizing for efficiency and timeliness. Provide the necessary training to drivers on safety regulations, school policies, and the proper handling of incidents or emergencies. Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure they meet safety regulations and are in good working order. Schedule maintenance and repairs as needed. Maintain records, prepare reports, and manage budget relating to transportation activities. Ensure all transportation operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as school policies. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of 3‑5 years experience in transportation or logistics management, preferably in a school setting. Solid understanding of transport regulatory rules and guidelines. Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High proficiency in using transport management software systems.
