Instructional Coordinator & Apprenticeship Program Instructor is a combined role that is responsible for developing, programming and leading an internship program for students with local business and organizations. This position will cultivate relationships in collaboration with the Early Childhood Program Chair and School Dean. This position works with apprenticeship site staff, students, state regulatory offices, CMC Work-based learning initiatives, and other stakeholders in establishing guidelines, policies, schedules, deadlines, and reporting structures. Under the supervision of the Early Childhood Program Chair and School Dean, this position is responsible for designing, facilitating, implementing, assessing, and reporting experiences for all CMC ECE Apprenticeship courses and components while properly applying all relevant program accreditation/credentialling standards from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, Colorado Department of Early Childhood, and Colorado Department of Education. This position also is expected to teach 9 credits per year in the related field. This is a year-round administrative, non-faculty, staff position with teaching responsibilities. The incumbent must be qualified to be higher education credentialed to teach in Early Childhood Education, however, is not assigned a faculty rank. *Position may be held at any approved CMC campus Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards) Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples of ideal qualifications include a minimum of a masters degree in early childhood education, ECE and 2 years of related experience in the field of Early Childhood Education or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. Minimum of 2 years of Higher Education instructional experience required. Must have experience in distance teaching and experience supervising field placement students in Early Childhood Education (birth to eight years old) as well as project management expertise. Experience is preferred in one or more of the following: in program development, business management, curriculum development, and experience in building community relationships. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, faculty, regulatory agency staff and community agency personnel of all levels. In addition, this position participates and represents the Early Childhood Program on various internal and external committees related to the educational standards of the field, work-based learning, regulatory agency oversight, and apprenticeship placements. High level communication, negotiation and organizational skills are required to adequately address the needs of CMC Early Childhood students community partners, internal partners, and agencies in this complex, competitive environment. Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position: Knowledge of teaching, pedagogy, methodology of similar programs; strong ability to interact with a variety of businesses and industries; ability to move between different job functions frequently. The grant is currently approved for up to two years. Colorado Mountain College requires that employees perform their assigned duties within the State of Colorado. The College further expects employees to accurately report their work location at all times. Failure to do so impairs the College's ability to ensure compliance with tax, payroll, employment, information security, and operational requirements. Hiring range = $90,533.48 - $100,592.76 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidates skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidates qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Position anticipated to close on August 5, 2026 or until filled. Minimum Qualifications: Essential Duties Administrative: Perform customary clerical/technical duties in support of the ECE Program. Consult with Risk Management as needed. Maintain extremely high confidentiality requirements FERPA. Communicate effectively with campuses, faculty, staff, and Early Childhood Program Chair and Dean Work with registrars office to consult on completion and transferability of program requirements. Manage student and department records and data processing and upkeep. Collect and report program data, graduation surveys, employment surveys, student exit surveys, and clinical and field facility surveys, etc. Other duties as assigned. Apprenticeship Program Oversite: Supervise ECE Apprenticeship students in their employment sites. Regular travel is required. Establish site agreements with Early Care and Education Centers for the placement of students in apprenticeship sites following requirements of Apprenticeship Colorado. Collaborate with the School Dean and Program Chair to determine CMC reporting requirements and permissions needed and ensure they are satisfied, collected and stored in compliance with CMC standards Obtain and certify the student has all appropriate documentation as required by the placement sites, Apprenticeship Colorado, and CMC. Develop a system that maintains these records. Maintain and report when required. Revise existing accredited curriculum to a work-based delivery, while maintaining accreditation fidelity. Develop program apprenticeship policies and handbooks for apprentices and journey workers. Develop a system for monitoring andevaluating apprentice progress in regard to the approved Work Process and report when required. Ensure that all student participants maintain current documentation as required by accreditation standards. Assist in program accreditation. Maintain all apprenticeship interagency relationships and reporting requirements in accordance with directions and timelines Develop a plan for scaling up the ECE Apprenticeship program at the end of the grant, including identifying funding streams that will support the scalability. Work with CMCs fundraising departments to strategize a plan and implementation timelines. Support ECE Apprenticeship students from recruitment through graduation through outreach, employer liaison work, career navigation, and program advising. Other Duties that may arise Teaching Teach 3 credits per semester of Apprenticeship ECE required courses. Revise existing accredited curriculum to a work-based delivery, while maintaining accreditation fidelity. Supervise ECE Apprenticeship students in their employment sites. Regular travel is required. Support ECE Apprenticeship students from recruitment through graduation through outreach, employer liaison work, career navigation, and program advising. Supervise, train, and support apprenticeship journey workers develop and provide journey worker training. Help prepare students academically and professionally for their apprenticeship experience. Coach students work-basedimplementation of coursework covered. Address problems and concerns that may develop between students and site staff. Assess students progress and professional behavior. Provide regular feedback to students during weekly coaching relative to their attainment of the Work Process standards. Assist students with integrating knowledge and theory with internship fieldwork. Monitor student progress via weekly coaching sessions. Three coaching meetings per month will be conducted virtually. Once a month coaching sessions will be held with the students at the students workplace. Work with site journey workers to ensure successful student completion of program objectives and student learning outcomes relative to the Work Process Standards. Serve as an academic advisor for students. Work in partnership with existing CMC ECE advisors. Assist in ensuring that both state credentialling and national accreditation processes are followed. Participate and represent CMC at regional and state program activities and committees. Other duties as assigned. Attend appropriate conferences and in-service training. Supervision Received This position will report to the ECE Program Chair, School Dean or designee. This position will work within the framework of responsibilities but may require guidance at times. Supervisory Responsibility This position will supervise an apprenticeship program and have instructional responsibilities for students. Supervise, train, and support apprentices and journey workers. It will also work with businesses and organizations to assist in supervising student apprentices. Serves as a lead to faculty. May supervise other staff, faculty, adjuncts and/or student employees. Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report will be required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. This position may require travel within the College district/service area. Some evening or weekend hours may be necessary. Working Conditions This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oralcommunication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally.
